Special Education Assistant Principal
Anetra Hunt serves as an Assistant Principal, and helps to ensure that the school stays committed to excellence in teaching and learning for each student and every program. Anetra will be beginning her 18th year in Education in the fall of 2020. She is a graduate of Southern University-Baton Rouge, where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology. She also hold a Masters of Arts in Counseling, and Masters of Education in Educational Administration from Prairie View A&M University.
Her main goal is to support teachers to ensure that students discover their personal vision in life and reach their highest potential. Anetra believes that building strong relationships with students, families, and the community will help ensure the success of every student and create a safe, exciting, and engaging learning environment.
Primary Job Responsibilities
- Oversee the Special Education Department
- Ensure federal and state compliance of IDEA
- Assist in the facilitation of ARDs
- Monitor students' schedule of services
