    HISD G/T Identification

The HISD matrix used to determine if a child is G/T in HISD includes a nationally normed standardized test as well as a cognitive abilities test. All students applying to a Gifted and Talented Neighborhood Program are required to take both tests.  HISD will only offer one testing window for G/T identification for the 2018-2019 school year, which will take place in December/January.  All students tested in this window who are identified as G/T will not receive GT services until the following school year.  There will be no other GT testing offered in HISD for the 2018-2019 school year.  If you have questions regarding the GT testing window or GT Matrix, please contact the HISD Gifted and Talented department at 713-556-6954.
