About our Special Education Team
Lovett’s Special Education team includes four Special Education certified teachers, four teaching assistants, and one Speech Therapist (shared with other campuses).
Between us, we have over 95 years of classroom experience working with students aged 3-21 in all 13 disability categories. Lovett teachers are also required to be certified in Gifted and Talented education. Amongst us, we hold a variety of additional certifications including Teaching Generalists (ranging PK-HS), Special Education (EC- 12), Reading Teacher (1-8), Dyslexia Interventionist, Autism Specialist, English as a Second Language (ESL) teacher, Educational Diagnostician, and Transition Services.
We are a collaborative team and able to assist each other and provide our entire population of eligible students with Specially Designed Instruction (SDI) to meet each child’s unique needs for learning.
At Lovett, we have a range of services including Co-Teaching, In-Class Support, Resource classes, Dyslexia Intervention Program, Structured Learning Class-Academic (TREK), and Preschoolers Acquiring Learning Skills (PALS). We strive to have all eligible students receiving instruction in the Least Restrictive Environment (LRE) of the General Education classroom with Specially Designed Instruction (SDI), Accommodations, and Modifications as designated in the child’s Individual Education Plan (IEP).
Our schedules vary, so please check with your child’s Case Manager to determine the teacher’s conference time.
