Our goal is to prepare students for all post-secondary opportunities:
- 2-year college
- 4-year university
The ‘Path to Success’ looks different for all students. CTE Advisors are here to differentiate and advise students on the various post-secondary opportunities available through sound guidance. The path they choose should be made based on all opportunities available.
WHO ARE CTE ADVISORS?
Career Readiness (CTE) Advisors work directly with students to provide connections and services that encourage exploration of all college and career goals, so that students meet graduation requirements and are prepared for post-secondary opportunities.
Our advising strategic plan includes progressive objectives for students at every grade level.
9th grade students receive support about the different pathways your campus provides and the industry certification which aligns to their program of study.
10th grade, we work with students to follow their PGP, review options for Jordan Career Center, and utilize district career exploratory resources
11th grade, we provide an opportunity for a book study review and industry field-trips to develop employability skills. All field trips for the 2020-21 school year will be virtual until further notice.
12th grade, we focus on assisting students to pinpoint their post-secondary goals to ensure a plan of action upon graduation. Our career interest survey allows us to target “undecided” students.
The survey underlined above, assists with identifying students post-secondary plan and career exploration interests. To fill out the survey, please click the link above and an advisor assigned to your campus will get back to you to create a one-on-one session for further directive.Texas Reality Check shows you how much your living expenses will cost, and the amount of money you will need to earn to pay for them.
