Parents, progress reports will be distributed tomorrow during homeroom. Please speak to your scholar about their academic progress and continue to monitor their grades online on  HISDConnect (PowerSchool). Students may be placed in a mid-day tutorial session in an effort to provide them with the support they need to be successful in their classes. Mid-Day Tutorials will be held Tuesday through Friday. All students are required to attend their assigned tutorials or study hall sessions. Failure to attend may result in detention.  Students can check Canvas for a list of tutorial or study hall assignment. Parents may also get a notification if their student does not report to their assigned tutorial.

We have a faculty meeting after school on Tuesday, October 22nd, therefore all after school tutorials and activities, except for Ms. Galloway's college apps session,  are cancelled. All other students are expected to exit the building by 3:40 pm as teachers will NOT be available to supervise for after school activities. Please plan accordingly.

As the weather begins to change, we will experience temperature fluctuations in the building. We advise students to dress in layers, with Navy blue sweaters, sweatshirts, and jackets, and we don't wear blankets. I've also seen some students wearing sweatpants underneath their skirts, students you can wear your skirts or pants, but NOT sweatpants. These are not allowed, ever. Please refer to the dress code located in the student handbook to make sure students remain in compliance.

Students are you interested in taking an AP Exam for a course in which you are NOT enrolled? If YES, then we can make that happen. Begin by navigating to Schoolpay.com and pay the $99 fee for each test you wish to take. Bring your receipt to Dean Shargey in room 201 and she will guide you with the rest of the steps to get you all set for the test in May 2025.

Looking ahead to next week, we have the Fall festival and spirit week coming up. We'll release the themed days for Red Ribbon/Spirit Week. Red Ribbon recognizes the national drug prevention program, while Spirit Week is a week-long celebration of Fall Festival. An explanation of themes will be released next week. While we encourage students to participate, students must be in appropriate school attire. It is not a free dress week and it must be obvious which theme students are following. Students must also continue to wear their scrubs on the days they attend their Health Science class. Students can always wear their school uniform if they want to opt out of Red Ribbon/Spirit week.
