Incoming Class of 2027 students:  Transportation requests are made via what was entered on your application and/or the New Student Survey

Routes will only be created for those eligible students requesting a route. Please make sure the address is up to date, as any discrepancy will cause a major delay in being assigned the correct route.

The campus is the liaison between the Transportation Department and the parents.  The campus does not create stops, routes, or make changes to the routes assigned.

The HISD Transportation Department will send out route information sometime in August before the start of school.  If you do not receive it or have any questions or concerns about your route for your DeBakey student, please email either Mrs. L. Rodriguez at Lzamora1@houstonisd.org or Mrs. Jafferali at ajaffera@houstonisd.org for more information.

Students must ride the route they are assigned to. For safety purposes, students may not board a bus if they are not assigned to that route.Transportation

Students who reside more than 2 miles from the campus are eligible for transportation services.  Parents or guardians of students who are not eligible (less than 2 miles) for bus service must arrange for the student’s transportation to the campus.

Helpful Apps

  • HISD has launched two new apps that will help improve communication regarding transportation services.

    Let's Talk speech bubble

The first is Let's Talk which will be an easier way for parents to ask questions and express any concerns they may have.

    Read more about it here.

The second one is the ZPass program which utilize student badges to track your student. Students must scan their badge everytime they get on and off the bus.

Most students should have received their badges by now. If the student does not have theirs, then they will need to drop by the magnet office to pick them up.

There are a few students that are still missing theirs and we are waiting to receive them from Transportation but those students have been notified.

If a student loses their badge, the cost to replace the badge is $5 that is paid through SchoolPay to the HISD Transportation Dept, not the school.
