5-18-21 Pershing Proud
Good afternoon -
I am so incredibly pleased with how many students showed up to test today. Pershing has consistently had high numbers on testing days. As of today, we have tested around 75% of our entire student body. Considering the circumstances, that is amazing!
We are just about done with testing today. We got a late start since this was our FIRST time having all students testing online at the same time. We should be completed by 2:30, so if you want to pick up your child, you may after 2:30 on Braes Blvd.
For tomorrow, we will begin testing at 9 a.m. (provided we do not have any technical difficulties). Like today, students need to be at school by 8:30 a.m. The testing time is 4 hours, plus 40 minutes for lunch. Students should be finished with testing by 2 p.m. Like today, you can pick up your child after 2:30 on Braes Blvd. Please do not come to pick up your child early as we do not want to disrupt the testing environment by removing students from their testing location.
I know that this has been a stressful year and that testing has not been 100% perfect, but I do appreciate your flexibility as we navigate the unknown. I am so proud of our students and I cannot tell you how wonderful it was to see so many of our virtual learners today. We hope that they will be back tomorrow to finish out STAAR testing for this week.
Please have your child charge their laptop and/or Chromebook tonight and bring with them tomorrow to test. Remember that students who tested last week will engage in asynchronous learning at home (students who took Algebra and did not take STAAR reading last week should be here tomorrow to take STAAR reading).
Thank you again for your flexibility and understanding.
