5-21-21 Make-Up Testing
Happy Friday Pandas!
We have had a very successful STAAR testing season. Even with the craziness that is the 2020-2021 school year, 75% of our students took the STAAR test. With that being said, I know several of you have reached out regarding make-up testing. Here is the schedule:
May 24 Algebra EOC, Biology EOC, 8th Grade Math
May 25 6th Grade Math, 8th Grade Reading
May 26 6th Grade Reading, 7th Grade Math, 8th Grade Science
May 27 7th Grade Reading, 8th Grade Social Studies
If your child did not take one or more of the above tests, please have them at Pershing by 8:30 a.m. on the day of the make-up test. We will begin testing at 9 a.m. Students are given four hours to test, with a lunch around 11:15. If your student is virtual, they can be picked up at 2 p.m. If your student is in-person, they will return to class after testing is over. If your child is in Algebra and/or Biology and did not take the end-of-course exam, they must take this exam to graduate from high school.
As I’ve said before, we realize that the STAAR tests do not count towards promotion standards this year, but it is important that we have data to determine where students are. We will be using the data to determine class placements next year (i.e., intervention course, tutorials, etc.). Plus it gives you an idea of how well they did this year. If you have any questions about STAAR make-ups, please reach out to Ms. Jackson at firstname.lastname@example.org
Thank you and have a great weekend!
