Bus Transportation for the 2018-2019 school year has already been requested for every student. Transportation requests were made using the address currently on file with Westside. If you have moved and have not updated your address with Westside, your child will not be routed properly for the new school year. Please submit required documents to the attendance office anytime an address change occurs so bus transportation is not interrupted.Assignment of routes along with pick up / drop off times will be available the week of August 20th. Please contact your student’s house secretary for routing information. For further information, click here for the HISD Transportation page: https://www.houstonisd.org/Page/31933The four-digit bus route of each student will be printed on the front the 2018-2019 student ID. This will serve as notification to the bus driver that the student can board the bus and ride that bus route only.Students are not eligible for HISD Bus Transportation if they:

Magnet School Hub Program
All students in a magnet program are assigned to routes designed solely for the district's magnet schools. These designated routes pick up and drop off students at magnet hubs located strategically throughout the district. The hub stops were selected based on a review of anticipated magnet bus ridership and area traffic assessments. More information about the magnet school hub program can be found at www.houstonisd.org/transportation.
Bus Route Assignments
It is anticipated that more students will be riding HISD buses this school year. With this increase in usage, it is vitally important that students adhere to their route assignments, which will be distributed in the coming days. Parents are no longer allowed to change route assignments. Any requests related to extenuating circumstances should contact Transportation Services terminal manager at the Northwest Terminal, Tesha Foster – (713)556-9400.
Routing and Tracking Technology
Transportation Services will utilize the Transfinder software system, which will allow parents to identify the school campus and bus route assigned to their home address. Parents can visit www.houstonisd.org/infofinderi to utilize the service. The tool went live on Monday, August 13. Later this year, the department will pilot Safe Stop, a bus tracking app that will allow parents to track their child's bus in real-time. The program will be tested on a limited number of schools and then rolled out districtwide later in the year.
*PLEASE NOTE-STUDENTS WILL ONLY BE ALLOWED TO RIDE THE BUS THEY ARE ASSIGNED TO BASED ON THEIR HOME ADDRESS; TEMPORARY BUS PASSES ARE NOT ISSUED.
