PowerUp is a districtwide initiative aimed at preparing students for the world beyond the four walls of the classroom. Part of this effort includes the district’s one-to-one laptop program, which provides every high school student with a laptop to use for learning at school and at home. For this privilege, each student is required to pay an annual, non-refundable $25 fee.Westside High School students "PoweredUp" for the first time in January of 2015. Since then, teachers have incorporated technology in their lessons to help provide rigorous, engaging instruction.
Students are expected to have their laptop on the first day of school Aug. 16, 2021!
The yearly $25 Power Up fee is not insurance. Students are responsible for any damage done to their laptop.
If a student's laptop is damaged, they will need to pay a $25 fee to have it replaced.
Damage Includes: Broken/Cracked Screen, Missing Keys, Damage to Charging Port, Damage to LCD Cover, Water/Liquid Damage and Cracked Mainboard.
For excessive or intentional damage, student will pay the actual cost of repairs.
Charger replacement (lost/ stolen charger, damage to charger): $55.
Case replacement (lost/ stolen): $40.
Strap replacement (lost/ stolen): $10.
