• The Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS) is a system designed by educators to support teachers in their professional growth. T-TESS became the official state-recommended system in the 2016-2017 school year, and measures three components:

    • Goal-Setting and Professional Development Plan: allows teachers to make decisions for professional growth as part of a self-assessment of their professional practices as they relate to student needs.
    • Evaluation Cycle: a teacher assessment process that employs rubrics, orientations, goal setting, observations (formal and informal), and pre-, post-, and end-of-year conferences.
    • Student Growth Measures: a set of measures that tracks student growth across the duration of a teacher's course.
