Third Grade

Third Grade provides students with the opportunity to apply newfound knowledge and skills in a fun and nurturing classroom. Using our Grassroom as a spring board, students enhance critical thinking skills with exploration of Life Sciences, Earth Sciences, and Physical Science. Problem solving and critical thinking skills are found in all we do.

Professional Experiences: I started my teaching career in 3rd Grade in 2007. I have taught 3rd Grade, 4th Grade, and 1st Grade in multiple states. I have been teaching at Kolter since 2018 and love being a part of this amazing community!
Hobbies - Interests: I enjoy spending time with my husband and kids, traveling, shopping, movies, and going out to eat.

Education: I graduated from the University of Houston with my degree in elementary education.
Certifications: I have my EC-6th and ESL certification.
Professional Experiences: I have been teaching since 2019. I have had the joy of teaching 1st and 2nd grade. Since 2022, I have been a Kolter Cougar working in 1st grade. I am excited to move to 3rd grade.
Hobbies - Interests: I enjoy exercising, traveling, baking, and spending times with family and friends.

Education: I received my bachelor's degree in Applied Learning and Development from the University of Texas in 2001. I'm currently seeking my master's degree in Speech Pathology from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences with an expected graduation in 2027.
Certifications: Elementary K-8, ESL, GT, and Dyslexia
Professional Experiences: I taught for 5 years in Houston ISD in 5th grade and K-5 dance/drama before moving to a private school in Sugarland for the next 9 years, teaching mainly middle school math with a sprinkling of high school Algebra and American Literature. I took a 4-year hiatus to work in the non-profit sector with refugees before coming back to Houston ISD in 2019 (just in time for COVID!). I have taught 3rd grade since 2019 and started teaching in 2002.
Hobbies - Interests: I love being outside! Hiking, camping, running, exploring. I also dabble in live music performing as a lead vocalist in a couple of rock bands. I treasure spending time w my family and friends, and I try to find laughter in the mundane.
