Fourth Grade

Welcome! ¡Bienvenidos! Bienvenue! 你好 Nǐ hǎo

Fourth grade is an important transition year for students. Our main goal, as teachers, is to facilitate, nurture and guide our students as they become more independent and responsible for their education.

Students are taught by two teachers each day. For half a day, students will have reading and language arts with Mrs. Curry or Mrs. Lidsky. The other half is divided into approximately seventy-five minute blocks with Ms. Kumari or Ms. Groce for math and science. We are veteran teachers with numerous years of experience. Some of our teaching strategies include the use of manipulatives, hands-on activities, peer groups, product oriented projects, teamwork, meeting the individual needs of every student with tutoring. In fourth grade students take the reading, math and writing STAAR tests. They only have one opportunity to pass these tests, so we do stress test-taking skills to ensure your child’s success. Our philosophy is to provide the opportunity for EVERY student to achieve an outstanding education as well as to acquire a lifelong love of learning.
