    • Come to Ortiz and fill out an online application with the assistance of our magnet coordinator and clerk.
    • Schedule an audition time for your students using the online application

  • Deadlines to Apply

    The deadline for current Houston ISD students has passed. We encourage you to apply for the 2023-2024 school year starting in January 2024. Specific dates are coming soon!

    Please apply early to ensure you have a good chance of receiving a space. 

    The HISD Choice is a  new and improved application system to help streamline and improve the application experience. Below are the HISD Choice application window.

    Qualified applications received during this phase will be entered into lotteries or be offered auditions.

    Phase 1 Lottery Notifications

    Qualified applications received during this phase will be offered auditions or seats on a space-available basis
