Theater Arts Program
-
The Lobo Theatre Company is composed of dreamful, hardworking, motivated young Actors and Technicians striving for greatness today to make tomorrow better. In a Title 1 community where the budget is small, but the hope remains, our small group of students work their hardest every day to stand out and be who they truly are through the arts. We, as a company, have the power to be the change we want to see in the world, by shaping young minds and preparing them for greatness.
Subjects offered:
Acting- building valuable life skills such as public speaking, confidence, team building, problem solving, self-expression, and awareness.
Technical Theatre- honing an area of design, such as lighting, sound, scenic design, costuming, hair and makeup, stage management, and more!
Some of our graduated theatre students are currently attending college pursuing education in theatre, such as:
- Lighting Design in Chicago
- Performance Acting at UT Austin
- Theater at Yale University
Some of our student actor alumni have even begun to work professionally and have appeared in TV commercials!

Ms. Katheryn Broadway
Katheryn Ernst-Broadway, Technical Director
Ms. Broadway developed her love of theatre in Austin, Texas and she began honing her craft her sophomore year of high school. She attended Reagan High School and is a proud Blue Jester for life, as her theatre troupe inspired her to become a teacher. Ms. Broadway graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University in December of 2019 with a Bachelor of Arts with a focus in Theatre Education and has loved every moment of working with the students as the Technical Director at Chavez High School! She only hopes to not hurt too many ear drums when she sings along to Showtunes around campus.
