The Visual Arts at Chavez is one of the crown jewels of the school. Chavez offers courses ranging from introduction level to courses that carry college credit.

There are currently 4 teachers for Visual Arts and are providing students with opportunities to discover, understand and create art works made by drawing, painting, print making, sculpture, ceramics, mixed media and digital. Our students will use these problem-solving skills in many fields outside of art such as creative writers, doctors, engineers and designers of our everchanging world.

In the past our students have shown success in local, regional, and statewide competitions including VASE, Scholastic, Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo as well as many others.

We are an IB school (International Baccalaureate) meaning that students can take enriched rigorous courses starting from 9th grade in order to prepare them for the challenges they will face in and out of school in both this country and any country abroad.
