The Meyerland PVA Social Studies curriculum challenges students to become productive citizens with their state, national and global communities. In sixth grade, students investigate world cultures to develop a respect for diversity and an understanding of the complex relationships among peoples of different nations. In the seventh grade students explore the history, geography, and culture of Texas to clarify their role in the society in which they live. In eighth grade, students examine United States history from English colonization to Reconstruction to gain an understanding and appreciation of fundamental American ideals.
