B.S. in Interdisciplinary studies with an emphasis on science from Texas State University
Mr. Arredondo
I am happy to begin my fourth year of teaching science here at Carnegie Vanguard! I have previously taught middle school in both Katy ISD and HISD. I came to Carnegie from Albert Thomas middle school. Prior to teaching, I was in the military for 20 years and retired in 2018. I have been able to travel the world and see many different places, with my favorite experience being celebrating St. Patrick's day in Dublin. I come from an IT background. I am very passionate about science and I look forward to sharing my life experiences, scientific knowledge and passion with the students and community of Carnegie. And as a side bar, I like to have fun while we learn (just look at my photo)

My teaching philosophy
I believe that every student has the capacity to achieve! We are all born with different intelligences (Howard Gardner's multiple intelligences theory) and it is up to me ,the teacher, to treat the student as an individual, helping them down a path that best suites their intelligence. I am a believer that there is a difference between intelligence and smart, with smart being how one harness's and uses their intelligence. I will use my life experience to help the student develop not only in the fields of Biology and Chemistry but in life as a whole.
