Junior Wins Art Car Houston - 1st Place Art Bike

Congratulations to junior Caoilin Krathaus, intern at CORE and bag free bayous Co-founder, on her Biocycle that won 1st place in the 2023 Orange Show Art Car Parade. She worked on it for 3 months in the studio.
Caoilin has been working really hard to create a mobile public art piece that she hopes will engage and inform people from the community about issues related to the environment and plastic waste. This project is part of her research class at CVHS where she is interested in looking at how public art projects like this one, can be used as a positive impact and a vehicle for change.
The vehicle is made from old plastic dry cleaner bags, colored groovy homemade bioplastic in circular portholes and lots of welded rods with some tricked out lighting.

She also displayed the bike at Earth Day Houston!
