    Closed Syllable (CVC) =     (Consonant    Vowel   Consonant)

    • A syllable is determined by having a vowel sound in the word.
    • A closed syllable is a syllable which ends in a consonant.

    *Example: (Picnic) is made of 2 syllables (pic – nic). Each syllable ends with a consonant.
