Class Overview
Español 3 Honors
In this course, students will continue to develop oral skills and read and write familiar words, commands, phrases, short sentences and basic questions. They will continue to learn predictable language in familiar settings. They will start to develop cultural awareness and the ability to recognize the products, practices, and perspectives of the culture. They will also use the language to expand their knowledge in all content areas. Students in this course will be required to complete additional and more challenging performance assessment tasks for each unit of study.
Finally, through the acquisition of the Spanish Language, students will have the chance to explore how they may use Spanish in the future, either for personal enjoyment or as a tool to open more professional opportunities.
Class Learning Objectives
Communication: The student communicates in Spanish using the skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing.
· Cultures: The student gains knowledge and understanding of Hispanic culture.
· Connections: The student uses Spanish to make connections with other subject areas and acquired information.
· Comparisons: The student develops insight into the nature of the Spanish language and Hispanic culture by comparing the student’s own language and culture to another.
· Communities: The student participates in their own community and around the world using the Spanish language.
