Mr. Joseph A. Morin, MPA

Mr. Morin is in his 4th year teaching and grew up in the Rio Grande Valley (RGV). He was born and raised in Donna, TX, where he graduated from Donna High School. Mr. Morin then continued his education at the University of Texas-Pan American (UTPA), where he obtained his bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Philosophy. In 2013, he joined the Young Adult Service Corps, where he taught middle and high school students for nearly two years in Panama and Costa Rica. Upon completing the Young Adult Service Corps in 2015, Mr. Morin moved to Houston, where he was a community center manager with the City of Houston and obtained his master’s in public administration (MPA). Here, he knew he wanted to further his career in education. In 2020, Mr. Morin became the World Geography and Ethnic Studies teacher at Wheatley High School. Now, he is the Career and Pathway teacher for Public Administration. Mr. Morin will teach Principles of Government and Political Science 1 at HAIS. Along with teaching, Mr. Morin is the coach for the debate team and  the sponsor of student council. 

 
Regarding free time, he loves watching TV; his favorite shows include Game of Thrones, Stranger Things, and Anime (Black Clover). He loves walking his 3-year-old pup named Jack in many parks around Houston.
