Ms. Judy Hoang
A.K.A Ms. H~
Ms. Hoang is a native Houstonian. She is a proud Houston ISD and Early College graduate. She studied at the University of Houston-Downtown earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry with a concentration in Environmental Chemistry and a minor in Mathematics.
Prior to joining HAIS, Ms. H~ was a part of the Middle College HS at HCC Fraga Team for eight years in various roles including STEM tutor, Informational Technologist, and Dual Credit Liaision. Ms. H~ is in her second year of teaching mathematics at HAIS. She has taught ninth and tenth grade HAIS students Algebra 1 and 2. In the past, she has sponsored the HAIS Cooking Club. Ms. H~ is a foodie and an adrenaline junkie. In her free time, she loves cooking, traveling, and eating good food!
For 2023-24, Ms. H~ will be teaching Pre-AP Algebra 1 and UT OnRamps Algebra 2. Currently, she is the Cheer Sponsor. If you're interested in Cheer, more information will be released. Please reach out if you have any questions.

Incoming ninth grade students who previously took 8th grade math will take Pre-AP Algebra 1.

End of Year Goals:
- Algebra 1 students are required to pass the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) end-of-course (EOC) Algebra 1 exam to meet part of the graduation requirements.
- All early college students are expected to complete the Texas Success Initiative Assessment (TSIA) in English and Mathematics. Students scoring at or above the benchmarks are considered “college ready” and eligible to enroll in any entry level college course.

Students and Parents should review the Ms. Hoang's Algebra 2 Syllabus. Additionally, students are required to follow the UT OnRamps M301 Syllabus for the college component. Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.

- Algebra 2 students are expected to meet the minimum eligibility grade to earn credit for College Algebra (M 301) on The University of Texas at Austin transcript.
