Welcome to Jefferson Elementary!

Our primary goal is to develop/enhance our student’s critical thinking and problem solving skills. We are committed to high standards of excellence for our students and ourselves, both academically and behaviorally. We work together to form a partnership between students, parents, and community.

Breakfast is served in the classrooms from 7:45a.m. - 8:05a.m. Breakfast is free for all students.

School begins at 7:45 a.m. The building does not open until 7:00 a.m. Please do not leave children on the front street unattended. There is no supervision before 7:00 a.m.  

Lunch is served according to classroom schedule, cost for lunch is $1.60 (reduced = 40 cents). All lunch applications must be renewed yearly.

School Ends at 3:00 p.m. Please be sure to pick up your child/ children on time. There will be no supervision after 3:00 p.m. Teachers are off duty. For the safety of your child, please be sure you have taken care of your child’s transportation. Failure to pick up your child on time at dismissal could result in the HISD Police being notified. We do not want this to happen, so please pick up your child/ children on time.
