If you are interested in asking me to write a recommendation letter for you, here are my guidelines:
- Do not contact me about a recommendation letter before August 12, 2024.
- I must have been your teacher for a full school year before this year.
- All requests for a recommendation letter must be made via email at least 4 weeks in advance of the due date.
- Send me an email (jbarnes2@houstonisd.org) from your HISD email address requesting the recommendation and telling me your first deadline.
- Do NOT add me as a recommender on Schoolinks until I have agreed to write the recommendation.
- I will respond to your email to let you know if I am willing to write you a recommendation.
- If I agree to write a recommendation, I will ask you to answer a few questions to provide me with information that may be helpful when writing the recommendation.
- I will NOT provide you with copies of the recommendation or give them to you to submit; all recommendations will be submitted through Schoolinks.
- If you need me to mail a physical copy of the letter, you must provide a stamped envelope that has the address already written on it.
