Welcome to AP Statistics! AP Statistics is an exciting course dealing with collecting, analyzing, and drawing conclusions from data. The course is broken into four main conceptual themes:
1. Sampling and Experimentation: Planning and conducting a study
2. Exploring Data: Describing patterns and departures from patterns
3. Anticipating Patterns: Exploring random phenomena using probability and simulation
4. Statistical Inference: Estimating population parameters and testing hypotheses
We will discuss all of these themes throughout the course, sometimes individually and sometimes in combination. The course will build throughout the year until we are using all of the concepts together to discuss real world data. The course is broken into large units with each chapter in the text representing a smaller chunk of that unit. All assignments, classrooms files, and due dates can be located on the HISD HUB.
