• Ramon Moss is a native Houstonian and graduate of St. John’s High School, Texas Southern University (B.A. Psychology), and The University of Houston (M.A. Educational Administration).
     
    Mr. Moss is currently pursuing a doctorate degree at The University of Texas at Austin (Ed.D. Educational Administration).


    As an educator with twenty-five years of experience in the Houston Independent School District, Mr. Moss has served as Bilingual Teacher at Henry F. MacGregor Elementary, Administrative Intern at Jack Yates High School, Assistant Principal at The High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, and Principal at Carnegie Vanguard High School.

    Mr. Moss cherishes the opportunity to work with gifted and talented students.  During his twelve years of administration at Carnegie Vanguard High School, the school has been named a National Blue Ribbon School and ranked as one of the top ten schools in the United States by US News & World Report and The Washington Post.

    Mr. Moss credits the success of Carnegie Vanguard High School to the relentless pursuit of quality education and instruction by a dynamic faculty, staff, and administration that is focused on preparing students for leadership in a global society.  He considers it a privilege working with students who are so intrinsically motivated to learn, flourish, and lead as well as with parents who are actively engaged as participants in the success of students and the school.  Under his leadership, Mr. Moss has helped create a caring and inviting atmosphere at Carnegie Vanguard High School that is attune with the academic, social, and emotional needs of students.

    In his spare time, Mr. Moss enjoys traveling, weight-training, and most importantly, spending time with family.  He has a deep appreciation for the arts and sciences including smooth jazz and anything related to Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and especially Janet Jackson.  

    Memberships of professional organizations include The College Board, Society for the Emotional Needs of the Gifted, etc.
