Compulsory Attendance, Absences and Denial of Course Credit
In accordance with Texas Education Code Section 25.092 (Attendance for Credit 90% Rule), a student shall
not be given credit or a final grade for a class unless the student is in attendance 90% of the days per
semester in which the class is offered. All absences (excused or unexcused) count toward the 90% rule.
Example: If a class meets 75 days in a semester, a student who missed 8 days of class (excused or
unexcused) will not receive credit. They will receive an “NG / No Grade” for the class.
