Kulsoom F. Rizvi Karakoç teaches English I Academic and Pre-AP. She graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 2004 and holds a Master of Teaching from The School for International Training. After spending her first five years teaching English at Michael E. DeBakey High School for Health Professions, she decided to move abroad in 2010 and spent six years teaching in Qatar and Turkey. She came to Kinder HSPVA in 2016 with a deep appreciation for cultural awareness and global politics. To her, the subject of English should hone not only a student’s reading and writing skills, but, more importantly, through the lens of literature, foster an understanding of the human condition. Outside of her two children, Zehra and Arman, poetry and grammar are her greatest passions!
