PVA UPDATE: Wednesday, April 1st, 2020
Touching base on this beautiful, yet quiet, April Fools Day. I keep waiting for all this sickness and social distancing to be announced an April Fools prank, but alas that is not to be. I do hope that you are doing OK, staying safe, and staying home (as possible). I received a number of e-mails from teachers yesterday as we kicked off virtual instruction. Everyone was excited to "see" most of their kids and some commented on how emotional it was for them as a faculty. WE MISS YOUR KIDS!!! A few students have not checked in with teachers and we are concerned about them. If you can ask yours if they have checked their HISD e-mail, sent an e-mail to a teacher, and/or at least logged on the HISD HUB, that would be helpful. Our goal is to have connected with every kid by tomorrow afternoon, as every teacher should have "seen" all classes by that time.
A number of parents have e-mailed asking if it would be possible for us to have a list of assignments for the different teachers/classes in order to keep track of student progress during this online process. READ MORE

I hope this finds you all well and safe.
This is a final call for any student who has technology needs. We want to make sure every HSPVA student has what they need to begin online instruction. If you are in need of a PowerUp laptop; or if you are having an issue with your PowerUp laptop and need a replacement; or have any other technology need please email Mrs. Patel at email@example.com no later than 10am on Tuesday, March 31st.
Stay safe. Stay engaged. Stay home.
Kinder HSPVA Technology Chair
Robert S. Allen, Principal
As principal, it is my great pleasure to welcome you to our website for Kinder High School for the Performing and Visual Arts (HSPVA).
We are in our 49th year of excellence in the arts and academics at HSPVA! We continue to celebrate what makes us one of the nation's most prestigious high schools: our proud heritage, dedicated staff, successful alumni, supportive parents, and, most importantly, our gifted and talented students. This school year brings even more excitement than usual as we enter our first full year in our state of the art five-story building in downtown Houston, only blocks from the prestigious Theatre District! The design and construction journeys were amazing as we worked with architects from Gensler and our contractors from McCarthy Building Companies. Watching our student settle in and raise the level of art and performance in the new spaces was inspiring this spring. I know that will continue this school year! Read More.
Mark your calendars for VenUS! Diversity Series Student Leaders and members of the Women of Color Club are hard at work planning and preparing for Venus, the 4th Diversity Series Event of the year. Tickets will go on sale closer to Spring Break.
