Carnegie Vanguard HS is a vanguard multidisciplinary program designed to challenge and develop gifted and talented students' potential.

The applications will open December 10, 2024, and will close February 12, 2025, for Phase 1.

The 3 requirements for CVHS are:

You are recognized as Gifted and Talented (GT) by HISD.

You have a Magnet Matrix of 80 or more.

You live within the district boundaries.

We only accept applications for 9th and 10th grade.

If you have not been identified as GT and want to apply to CVHS, see below the possible options:

1. If your child was identified as GT, but you left the district, please email me the HISD GT matrix proving his/her GT status. My email address is lmoumni@houstonisd.org.
2. If your child was identified by another district or state, please email me all the identification proof that you have, and the District GT committee will evaluate your child’s GT status with HISD. My email is lmoumni@houstonisd.org   .
3. If your student is not currently in HISD, request GT testing at your current school/ district and email lmoumni@houstonisd.org  the results as soon as possible.
