The school year has started and we are thrilled to be back in school with our students. Our teachers are at the classroom door greeting students and creating a welcoming environment. The focus on relationships and team building in the classroom and across the building has been evident. I am proud of our Chávez staff for their dedication, commitment to our students, parents and community, and for their support as we bring positive changes to our school. We work hard every day to execute on our school’s mission and vision.
The Mission of César E. Chávez High School:
Chávez High School will educate students to become responsible participants and leaders in a democratic society by providing opportunities to learn, reason, and serve within and outside of the classroom to prepare the students for college, career, and life.
The Chavez CIRCLE, Chavez Instruction and Relationships in Classrooms and Learning Environments, is the guiding vision for our work for the school this year. This vision focuses our work on the belief that students will learn content best when it presented and assessed through multiple methods, personalized for each student, thus creating the engagement needed for understanding. The vision is encapsulated in the tagline, Effective First Teach.
Chávez High School is the catalyst for the social change in our community. Chávez is continuously evolving to meet the needs of the students, the school, the district, and the community. As a result, we have geared our vision to grow and expand the learning experience. We look forward to partnering with you in the personal and academic development of your student. We invite you to our school to join our efforts in building Chávez’s future leaders. At our school, ALL students can reach their potential.
I am proud to be a Lobo and serve our community. I am looking forward to our 2015-2016 school year!
