STAAR testing will take place on March 30 and 31 for students in grades 4 and 5 and again on April 20, 21 and 22 for students in grades 3, 4, and 5. Due to test security guidelines all visitors will be asked to leave the facility at 8:00 am and there will be no lunch visitors on these days. Please encourage your child to do their best!
Our annual round up will take place on Wednesday, April 15th at 8:30 am in the school cafeteria. Parents are encouraged to bring their child to the event as they will go to classrooms and participate in an art activity with our current students while parents meet with school officials to learn about registration and school policies. You are invited to attend the meeting if you have been accepted as a tuition pre-kindergarten student; accepted as a magnet transfer student; or live in the Harvard attendance zone and will be attending kindergarten for the 2015-16 school year.
Razia Jan was named a Top 10 CNN Hero in 2012 for her work at the Zubuli Education Center, a school founded in rural Afghanistan that provides a free education to about 350 girls. She spoke with students at Harvard along with Elizabeth Suneby author of Razia’s Ray of Hope, on November 11th to kick off our IB Action Project to raise funds for Razia’s Ray of Hope Foundation. Our READ FOR RAZIA READ A THON raised $6,200 for the students in Afghanistan. Razia reports that these funds will help educate 20 girls at the Zubuli Education Center.
