  • Noah Rattler, author of Noah’s Walk, visited Mitchell Elementary

On April 17, 2015, Noah Rattler, author of Noah’s Walk, visited Mitchell Elementary.  He spoke to the third, fourth, and fifth graders since they would be taking the STAAR test the following week.  He talked to them about setting goals and his message supported our efforts to promote and enhance our literacy efforts.  Mr. Rattler also encouraged our students to be responsible citizens and to adopt of cause of their own like he had done with the issue of Homelessness.  It was a fun-filled afternoon and our students had a very good time.

Students also received special treats from our new neighbors and partners at the Cambodian Church of Houston located on Fuqua.

The new Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) within the federal National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs allows schools that meet certain criteria to offer nutritious meals to all students at no charge.

CEP asks that families fill out the CEP survey form in order to maximize school site funding that requires this socioeconomic data.
