Welcome! I am Mr. Greiner and I teach physics at Westbury High School. I received my B.S. degree in Engineering Physics from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, in 1988, an M.S. in Astronomy from UCLA, and a J.D. from the University of California, Davis, in 1994. I practiced law until moving into teaching at Westbury in 2010 and am proud to be a Husky. My love of physics came from an interest in Astronomy gained from watching Carl Sagan's Cosmos show in the 70s. I knew that to understand space and all the fascinating things that happen out there, I had to understand physics. Although I ended up practicing law for many years, I have always enjoyed reading physics books and articles, keeping up with the amazing things that physicists are learning about our universe. Physics is truly the most fundamental of sciences that explores the most basic workings of the universe. I hope to give students a working knowledge of the basics of physics that will help them whether they decide to continue on in science or engineering or just want to be able to evaluate stories about new discoveries in the newspaper. Physics is for everyone!
