    HOW TO APPLY TO THE WESTBURY PERFORMING AND VISUAL ARTS MAGNET PROGRAM

    Welcome to the Admissions page for Westbury High School's Performing and Visual Arts Magnet Program in Houston, Texas. Westbury is a public fine arts magnet school in the Houston Independent School District. On this page you will find the information you need to begin your journey to become part of the Westbury family.  


    Magnet Applications for the Westbury 2021-2022 school year will be accepted September 17, 2021 – Summer 2022 at www.hisdchoice.com. All auditions will be done virtually this school year. You will receive an email to schedule your mandatory audition(s) during the application process. Please be sure you use a valid email address and check it regularly.

    Phase III Information - No Callbacks will be done during Phase III
    Starting March 11, 2022, Phase III applicants will be communicated with to coordinate the audition process. Since this is an ongoing phase that is only open to students new to Houston ISD or living outside of the district, there is no set audition schedule. We will work with each applicant individually and all will be expected to meet the deadlines communicated in the emails sent. 

    To prepare for the audition, select department in the AUDITION REQUIREMENTS tab to view the audition criteria. You must prepare for the audition exactly as is indicated for each department. It is a good idea to prepare for the auditions well in advance of your audition date. Failure to prepare for and/or attend your audition may result in automatic disqualification of your application.
     

    Important Phase II Dates - No Callbacks will be done during Phase II
    Saturday, March 12
         Auditions open in ACCEPTD for submission of necessary requirements (videos, portfolios, etc.). A Link will be shared by 9am on March 11 to submit. 
    Monday, March 21
         Deadline to submit videos, portfolios, written work, etc. by 11:59pm.
    Wednesday, March 30
         Final decision made and Qualification notifications go out along with seat offer. 
    Wednesday, April 6
         Final day to submit documentation to confirm a seat offer.
    Friday, April 8
         Per district policy, all Phase I & II seat offers must be confirmed by this date.  

    NOTE: All dates are subject to change and any changes will be communicated as far in advance as possible.
