Hello and welcome to SLL at Lee High School!

My name is Edward Skaggs and it is my pleasure to teach Skills for Learning and Living (aka Lifeskills) this year as well as handling all ARD paperwork for those students on my case load.  You can easily reach me by e-mail at the above address.

I am a lifelong Texan, having graduated from Texas Tech University.  I have also received a Master of Educational Administration from Lamar University.

We will continue utilizing the Unique Curriculum and will also incorporate aspects of TEKs-related content within the IEP structure.  We will also be focusing on real-life issues and how to adapt to the outside world, based on each students' individual needs.

LHS has a strong team in the Special Education department.  Each one of us has unique strengths that we bring to the table and work in a strong spirit of collaboration. We also reach out to the general education teachers for feedback and help when needed.

  • I am very pleased to have been selected as one of the five teachers on campus to participate in a district-wide Teacher Leadership Corps cohort focusing on campus technology issues.  I will be concentrating on how technology can revolutionize the special education classroom at Lee High School utilizing the Power Up initiative and Discovery Education Suite as well as other technological advances (UDL workstation, Assitive Technology and Smart Board technologies).

I will be attending six different all day meetings throughout the year and will welcome other experts into our classroom for feedback opportunities and collaboration. I will also be sharing the knowledge I have attained with my colleagues at Lee.
