Ms. Butler

Hello and welcome!  I am your child's second grade English teacher!  My name is Patty Butler and I have been teaching in HISD for 31 years.  I started my career at Longfellow Elementary School and remained there for 19 years.  I moved to Gordon Elementary to teach 3rd grade ESL.  I've taught 5th, 4th, 3rd and 2nd grades, including GT, ESL and regular classes.  I am really proud and excited to be a part of the Mandarin Immersion program and have thoroughly enjoyed my last five years here. 
 
Some things about me - I have two wonderful daughters who attend high school nearby.  I love to read, cook and play tennis.  A recent addition to our family is a rescued cat, who is keeping us (and our mastiff) very busy. 
 
I look forward to meeting all of you and your children!  We are going to have an exciting and productive school year!
