Below is message from HISD government relations in regards to mask mandate and voter access:
Your campus has been selected as a polling location for the elections scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2021. Harris County administers the election process at designated HISD campuses. The designated voting area at your school does not fall under HISD jurisdiction. This means that while being used as a polling location, the HISD mask mandate cannot be imposed on members of the public entering the school for purposes of participating in the election process. Voters and those working at the polling site cannot be required to wear masks.
In addition, the campus is not allowed to ID voters on election day. If voters are required to access the designated voting area through the front office, your staff is prohibited from asking the person for identification before directing them to the designated area to vote.
Students/staff will not be in the vicinity of the designated voting location on campus. Voters will be limited to the designated voting area for voting purposes.
Also, please work with the election judge to reserve and mark off a sufficient number of handicapped parking spaces near or in close proximity to the entrance to the designated voting area.
The teachers have voted to present data night in a recorded video. We will release data night video on Friday, 11/5/21. Parents, please note that you are always welcome to reach out to the teachers about your child’s progress and test results. You do not have to wait until data night to learn all about your child’s data.
