• Question: Do you think my child will really be fluent by the end of 8th grade?
Answer: Fluency is a loaded word, but our program aims for advanced-level proficiency by 8th grade. Our vision for the program also extends beyond 8th grade, through the end of high school. We plan to funnel students into selected high school programs and offer them AP Chinese Language at the 9th grade (if they have not already passed the AP exam in 8th grade), with their 10th through 12th grade years spent taking dual credit courses through partnerships with local universities. Our end goal is for students to graduate high school with course credit to approximate a Minor in Chinese Language.
