BIOGRAPHY
My name is Mrs. Mayer, and I am proud to be Jack Yates Lion! I am originally from Austin and received a bachelor’s degree in history from Texas Tech University. This will be my ninth year at Yates. I am dedicated to fostering a love for learning in all my students and strive to create a community of learners that nurtures this growth in a positive, fun environment. This year I am teaching U.S. History and AP World Modern History. I am excited about the school year and look forward to working with each of you!
U.S. History: Students of this class will prep for the STAAR EOC U.S. History exam taken in the spring. Throughout the year, students will study the history of the United States from 1877 to the present.
AP WORLD: AP World Modern History curriculum covers the time periods from 1250 CE to The 21st Century. This course will require you to pass an exam with AP College Board to receive 3 to 6 college credit hours. The AP World Exam is Wednesday, May 8, 2025.
