Welcome! My name is Jon Writt, and I am a World Geography Teacher at Jack Yates High School. I also serve as the Offensive Coordinator for the Jack Yates Lions football team. This is my first year at this school and I am excited for new beginnings! I'm originally from East Texas and I attended school at Longview High School. After graduation I attended college at Southern Arkansas University. I played football there while obtaining a Bachelors of Science degree. Following college, I got into education. I landed my first teaching/coaching job at Lufkin High School. I worked there for a year before heading back to my alma mater to teach and coach. I've spent the past several years at Longview teaching Economics & Government and coaching wide receivers. I recently obtained a Masters of Education degree from Stephen F. Austin State University. I'm excited to be a Yates Lion and looking forward to a great school year!
