My name is Ms. M. Denise Powell and I'm the PSI (Preparing Students for Independence) Teacher, here at Yates HS. I am a proud product of HISD, graduating from Kashmere HS in 1993. I've been in Education for over 25 years, with 12 years at Yates HS. I graduated from the University of Houston-Downtown with honors (Cum Laude) in 2006. I'm currently pursuing a Masters in Marketing at Western Governors University. Some of my favorite things to do include: journaling, adult coloring, listening to music, spending time with family and friends, and exercising. I am super excited about the school year and look forward to teaching each of you!
