    PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
     
    YBI is an innovative 10-week professional development program taught by our TJX ASssociates and Associates from our local brands: T.J. Maxx, Marshalls and HomeGoods. YBI is designed to help high school students develop a positive work ethic, learn about careers in the retail business, prepare them for entry into the workforce, network with business leaders within their community and provide opportunities for jobs and college scholarships.
     
    YBI teaches job and life skills with topics such as budgeting, Resume Building, Interview Preparation, Career Exploration through Job Shadow Days and a Dress for Success Fashion Show. The program culminates with a ceremony which recognizes and rewards each participant for their achievement. Jobs are awarded and scholarships are announced to those who receive them.
     
    BENEFITS
     
    Students: Supports academic achievement, provides a behind-the-scenes view of the retail business, development of work-related skills, exposure to career pathways, networking opportunities with TJX Associates, and employment and scholarship opportunities.
     
    Schools: Enriches the school curriculum and classroom discussion by providing hands-on learning in a real business environment. 
     
    Associates: Promotes professional development allowing Associates to network internally, give back to area youth, share job experiences and lead a session. 
     
    Company: Prepares students for the workforce,  develops a pipeline of talent to our the stores, supports local community efforts and drives sales by reaching current/future customers.
