Greetings Lion Family! 

I am Rennette E. Brown, a PROUD member of the Jack Yates H.S. AWESOME ENGLISH DEPARTMENT!!! I currently teach English IV-Texas College Bridge, ESOL/ELDA; I am the Dyslexia Interventionist and the long-term coach of the AWARD WINNING Jack Yates High School Debate Team! I also serve on the LPAC committee and the Yates SDMC committee. I have been blessed to be at Yates since October 29, 2007. I have been a part of the HISD family since August 1998. 

As a native Houstonian, I graduated from Jesse H. Jones Senior High School Vanguard in 1988 and THEE Texas Southern University in 2006. When I am not at Yates High School, I can be found performing on stage at local theatres such as The Ensemble Theatre, Fade to Black Festival and Catastrophic Theatre as well as various other special events. I am also the proud director of the Primerica African-American Leadership Council Stephanie Scales Choir. 

I LOVE reading, journaling, performing in plays, singing, football, basketball, track, board games,  the color purple, sweet potato pie, seafood, cats, dogs, butterflies, hearts, and spending quality time with my family and friends! I am blessed to be the mother of Byron, Jr., and the Gmoma to Zhavion, Byron III, Trey, Anaya, Royal, Ra'zhaiah, Dee, Jah'Myracle, Douglass and Zacariah! I cannot forget my furbaby, BLADE E. BROWN, the best tabby in the world :) 

I do my best to live by Proverbs 3:5-6 and Philippians 4:4-9!
