Bellaire High School Dance Program

 AUDITION REQUIRED – AFTER SCHOOL PRACTICES REQUIRED

 eMOTION Dance Company offers three dance classes (Dance 1-4 Fine Arts credits or PE Aerobic credit): 

• Hip Hop & Breakdance- 4th period 
• Modern Dance- 5th  period

Students are selected through audition. eMOTION is a performing group of students and therefore, students are required to maintain passing grades by UIL rules or Texas ‘No Pass – No Play’ rule. This class also provides opportunities for students to develop their own choreographic skills and to present their creations in two mandatory shows each year. By mastering choreographic and performance dance skills, students will develop dance technique and skills on the advanced level that is also required for competitions. eMOTION Dance Company participates in a variety of dance competitions, performances and other events throughout the year.

Intermediate Dance/ PE Aerobic through dance program provides an opportunity for students to experience lifetime activities through different dance styles that promote the concept of fitness for life. The instructional units focus on conditioning, basic dance styles and technique, as well as recreational, group and individual dance activities. Both written and practical assessments are administered throughout the year. 

This course fulfills fine arts credit requirement: Dance 1 or 2 and/or PE credit requirement, offered all year long.

 Principles of Dance 1: (1st, 2nd and 6th period)

Principles of Dance 1 / PE Aerobic through dance program provides an opportunity for students to experience lifetime activities through different dance styles that promote the concept of fitness for life. The instructional units focus on basic conditioning, basic dance styles and technique, as well as recreational, group and individual dance activities. Both written and practical assessments are administered throughout the year. 

This course fulfills fine arts credit requirement: Dance 1 or 2 and/or PE credit requirement, offered all year long.
