NWEA's MAP Growth Assessment is an assessment tool that effectively measures academic achievement and progress in certain K-12 subjects. It provides teachers with accurate, actionable evidence to help inform instructional strategies regardless of how far students are above or below grade level.
At Bellaire, all 9th and 10th-grade students will take the NWEA MAP Growth assessment in English and Math three times per year. Students who have not successfully passed their English I, II or Algebra 1 STAAR test will also take the assessment. The first assessment will occur at the beginning of the school year, followed by tests in January and May. Each student's progress will be evaluated.sts in January and May. MAP Growth Practice Tests
Students can try Practice Tests and watch videos to become familiar with MAP Growth tests. The link appears on the student log-in page (test.mapnwea.org), or you can direct students to the following website on any supported device and browser (excluding Internet Explorer):
From the Student Resources, they can access MAP Practice Tests. These tests include about 5 questions, depending on the grade, and do not provide a score or adaptive behavior. You can also open the practice tests directly from this website:
