Self-enrolling into an Apex Course

In accordance with Texas Education Code Section 25.092 (Attendance for Credit 90% Rule), a student of any grade level from kindergarten through Grade 12 shall not be given credit or a final grade for a class unless the student is in attendance 90% of the days in which the class is offered.

Students that earn an NG will have to go through the Credit Appeals process and earn time back.  After each grading cycle students will be notified via HISD email of time owed to regain credit for an NG.  Students need to submit a Credit Appeal Request signed by the student and the parent. Forms will be attached to student emails or can be picked up in the main office.  Students will work in the College and Career Readiness APEX course to replace time missed in a class.

Step 1. Login to your student Canvas Account.

Step 2. From your dashboard select the Resources folder from the left navigation pane.

Step 3. You will see a new window popup and you want to select Digital Resources.

Step 4. Select Log in with Microsoft Entra on the next page.

Step 5. Once on the HISD Resources page, type in Edmentum – Apex in the search tab at the top right-hand corner of the page.

Step 6. This will bring you to your Apex Dashboard. Toward the top mid-right portion there will be an option to add an enrollment. (You may first see a tab that shows Actions.)

Please type in the corresponding E-Code (begins with a capital V) based upon your grade level (9th, 10th, 11th or 12^th) and the starting alphabet for your last name.
