    Campus-Wide Book Initiative
    Book 2
    This will be the 4th year that Burbank's students are participating in the annual campus-wide book study. Each student received a copy of The Art of Secrets which is read in class everyday during homeroom. Students participate in activities bringing life to the book that they are reading, such as fold-ables, analyzing the texts, and classroom discussions. Follow our activities here.

    Burbank Student Wins TAGT Scholarship
    Seventh grade student Shermya Parker was named one of two recipients of the 2015 TAGT-Summer Mathematics Institute Scholarship valued at $2300 provided by the Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science (TAMS) at the University of North Texas. She will get the opportunity to live on the college campus for three weeks and enroll in a single class where she will get the opportunity to complete one year of high school mathematics in this self-paced program.

  • Finalists  
    Burbank is named Blue Star Award Finalist 
    The Blue Star Award for Service Excellence in designed to recognize “stars of organizational effectiveness.” Twenty schools were nominated and only five schools were named finalists. Burbank was the only middle school nominated on the North Side for this prestigious award. The winner will be announced at the end of April and the winning campus will receive a banner to hang on the outside of the building, $5,000 from Capital One and free tickets to an Astros home game for every student and staff member to have one.
