        • Waiver (Campus Based Final Exam Exemption Policy)
          • In last meeting's minutes, we discussed school waivers for next year. In those minutes, we included the secondary guidelines link/information. Principal Square references this year's exam exemption guidelines. Principals requesting guidelines that are more strict than the districts must make adjustments to school improvement plan. Square asks for feedback. Pauloski asks for clarification on attendance as it relates to students that are still maintaining higher standard of performance. Square is going to request additional guidance on exam exemptions moving forward and will provide us details via feedback. She will follow up with committee if we need to take action on the guidance.
        • Spring Final Exam Schedule
          • HCC exams are the week of May 9, Monday through Thursday. HCC graduation conflicts with some of the HCC finals. Seniors historically have taken their exams during a 90 minute period on the 25th and 26th. That Friday will be senior check-out.
        • Senior Events
          • These will be added to the calendar by the end of the week.
        • SDMC Anticipated Vacancies and Election Process
          • Square navigates to the houstonisd.org/eastsdmc to display the committee members names. We have one parent with a gradudating senior. PTO will replace this parent. Two teacher vacancies will be open. Eligible nominees will be put forward to faculty. Teachers that accept nominations will be put on a ballot during May 2022 faculty meeting. We will have reserves in place in the event that elected candidates leave our campus. Only expected vacancies are one parent opening and two teacher vacancies. Dr. Pauloski speaks to the SDMC as she is retiring before the end of her term.
        • Rankings
          • We are one of the highest ranking schools in the city/state.
        • Staff Updates
          • We have hired two new English teachers. One is the current teacher of the year at Law and Justice. She will be finishing her MA degree very soon. She will be teaching ENGL II. We are hiring a teacher specialist from Chavez to teach ENGL I. Dean Speier has announced his resignation. Walton is filling Speier's current position. Varela is filling Walton's current position. We also have an art vacancy. Next year's funding model will look similar to this year with autonomy going to individual campuses. This allows us to expand offerings, especially as it relates to CTE classes. Our goal is for CTE funding to also go toward counselor as well. All current teachers are returning next year. Vacancies for next year: Visual Arts teacher, OneGoal, nurse, and Prof comm/EDUC.
        • Master Schedule Draft
          •  Square shares a preliminary version of next year's master schedule and talks about some of the changes. More changes are expected based on new hires.
          • 22-23.DRAFT.YEAR.LONG.MASTER
        • Preliminary Budget
          • HOUSTONISD.ORG/STRATEGICPLAN
          • Next year, we are going to be enrolling more new sophomores than before and we are bringing in juniors in as transfers for the first time. We are trying to expand our CTE offerings, some of which will be by asking current teachers to get CTE certified (Buso, Porter, Pham, Cantu). Maximizing the funding of positions via non-general dollars, such as via CTE funds, is a way to increase the number of teachers at our school. Square has already had one-on-one conversations with all teachers regarding plans for next year.
        • After Square gets guidance on final waiver exemption and next year's budget, she will follow up via email.
